Empowering Africa’s Coffee Industry, One Bean at a Time

Who We Are

The West Africa Specialty Coffee Association (WASCA) is more than just an organization — it is a movement uniting the people behind Africa’s coffee story. From smallholder farmers tending their fields, to roasters perfecting every batch, to baristas creating unforgettable coffee experiences, WASCA brings everyone together under one strong community.

We act as a bridge between tradition and innovation. On one side, we honor the rich heritage of African coffee, its farmers, and its role in local communities. On the other, we drive the industry forward with modern training, global standards, and sustainable practices that ensure Africa’s coffee can stand proudly on the world stage.

Through training programs, certifications, trade events, and direct market connections, WASCA ensures that African coffee is not only grown with care but also recognized, valued, and celebrated across the globe.

Our Mission

To empower Africa’s coffee stakeholders — farmers, cooperatives, roasters, traders, baristas, and enthusiasts — by providing education, fostering collaboration, and creating sustainable trade opportunities. Every initiative we undertake is designed to improve livelihoods, enhance coffee quality, and build resilience across the value chain.

Our Vision

To position West Africa as a global hub for specialty coffee, known not only for its unique flavors and high-quality beans but also for its commitment to sustainability, fairness, and innovation. We envision a future where African coffee is celebrated worldwide, and the people who make it possible thrive economically, socially, and environmentally.

We empower trade and protect values. Through our online marketplace, farmers, roasters, and vendors can showcase and sell their products directly to a wider audience. Alongside this, we champion sustainability, fair trade, and ethical sourcing, ensuring African coffee thrives in a way that benefits both people and the planet.
